Reflection:

i think this photo shows my growth as a photographer and the progress i've made in photos. I have learned to use the rule of thirds and apply that to this photo. I like the colors complement each other well. The basket is also somewhat cropped out not showing the whole picture, which i think adds to the picture as focusing on the bright colors of the fruit. i think so far one of the most beneficial things i've learned was the compositional techniques. I felt that after learning these, my photos have improved a lot.

Culture Clash Photo
village-culture.jpg
This photo is my interpretation of the culture clash project. I put together a picture of a beautiful lake, and one of the man factories in Beijing that is responsible for pollution in China, to juxtapose the clean, fresh, environment in Maine to the dirty, polluted air in Beijing. I also added trash, scattered around the rocks of the shore to show how the environment in Beijing is slowly becoming a waste land. The beauty of nature is slowly being devoured by pollution and the carelessness of people to not take care of their environment. The two men in the picture are gazing at all the trash, and realize what their carelessness has done. In the bottom left corner of the photo you can see a bunch of flowers that are dying. The dying flowers represent that by polluting the Earth, people are throwing away a good thing and the natural beauty of the Earth.
