Reflection

Hard_Worker.JPG
I think this is one of my better pictures that I have taken during this course, because it shows a change in my photography skills from before to now. Before I took this class I didn't really know what makes a good photo, now I have learned that there's a lot more behind photography, than just snapping a shot. For example in the photo above the main subject is off to the right side, and before I thought the main attraction had to be dead center, but now I see that by switching the position of the subject it makes the photo more interesting. Also this image captures more than just one thing, for example there's the man walking, there's the shadows from the trees, the colorful traditional Chinese walkway, and in the very far back ground you see sunlight hitting the field.

Culture Clash

I thought it was really interesting to do the culture clash project which meshes things from three "different" worlds. While creating this assignment I was able to notice a lot of similarities and differences between The Village, Beijing and YHS. Also I thought it was really neat to use the Photoshop program considering I have never used it until now. I always thought it would be too complicated for me to use, but with the help of tutorials and in class time I was able to get a basic understanding of the vast program, which in turn enabled me to create the culture clash photo.
