Photo that shows my improvement

trophies_2.JPG

I think this photo reflects my improvement in photography because the photo represents a different point of view as well as a leading line. By placing the camera near the foot of the trophies the importance of the subjects is signified greatly. By placing the trophies in a leading line the audience becomes more interested to the photo. I think this is one of my best photos because it shows two compositional techniques in one shot, leading line and point of view.

Culture Clash

Culture_Clash_3.jpg
For my culture clash assignment I took a simple photo of an alley in the village and then I added western-like objects and people. The objects and people represent my western side and the background represents my eastern side. For example, the Uncle Sam poster and the Statue of Liberty indicate my patriotic side while the NBA poster, basketball, and football players reveal my passion for sports. Also the contrast between an American and a Chinese life style is revealed through the juxtaposition of the Lamborghini and the three wheeled bike. In other words while living in China I still maintain a Western life style.
